Suicide bomber kills 15 at a bank’s ATM in Azare

No fewer than 15 persons were feared killed by a suicide bomber at a first generation bank’s ATM along Kano Road in Azare, Bauchi State today at about 10:20a.m.

The attack occurred when people were trying to make cash withdrawals at the ATM facility.

Efforts are being made by security operatives to evacuate the injured to the Federal Medical Centre situated in the town.

The bomber was said to have come to the ATM spot wearing an improvised belt and detonated it killing himself and people waiting to make cash withdrawals from the centre.

It would be recalled that an IED planted at the gate of a Motor Park in the town went off last weekend, which police said killed about 5 persons.

Similar attack was carried out at Gombe Motor Park on Tuesday which resulted in the death of over 30 people with several others injured.
