SHARIA: Boko Haram Amputates 10 In Mubi

The sect has crippled the economic and social activities in the area as the insurgents have reportedly instituted strict Sharia laws in the area.

According to sources from Mubi, the moment the insurgents gained entry into the town, they started implementing strict Sharia law, consequently amputating the hands of 10 people found guilty of sundry offences, including looting of property belonging to fleeing residents, Punch reports.

The sources said the victims were amputated in the presence of residents the insurgents asked to converge to witness the enforcement of Sharia law and they saw the terrorists parading them.

Another eyewitness account revealed that Imams accused of preaching against Boko Haram, were dragged out from a mosque and beheaded.The sect was also said to have sounded a warning to all Christians in the area to relocate or be prepared to be Islamized or else, they will be killed according to their Islamic tenets.It was gathered that those mostly affected by the recent onslaught were students of the Adamawa State University and the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi. Some of them went through torture before they reportedly escaped, while some are said to still be in the bush.

A female student of the Federal Polytechnic said: “I must give thanks and praises to God almighty for spearing my life; I saw as people were being slaughtered like goats. I am too happy to see myself alive.”

The sect has also reportedly vowed to dislodge Yola, the Adamawa State capital, in their next advancement effort.
