The incident, which grounded commercial activities from Cele area up to Isolo, was caused by aggrieved members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), who took to the road to protest against the death of their member.
The protesters were aggrieved because the commercial bus from which the conductor fell, was actually fleeing from officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) at Second Rainbow bus stop.
However, there were conflicting reports as to what led to the death of the victim.
While some alleged that the commercial bus driver in an attempt to evade arrest mistakenly ran over his bus conductor, other accounts said the conductor fell from the bus as the driver tried to manoeuver recklessly.
THISDAY further gathered that when the body was brought to Cele Bus stop, aggrieved NURTW members took to the streets in protest.

However, some touts (area boys) were said to have hijacked the protest and unleashed mayhem on motorists and pedestrians.
Armed with dangerous weapons, they went after the LASTMA officials, as well as damaged the windscreen of several vehicles before they matched to Itire Police Station to drop the corpse.

Why try to run in the first place. conductors please sit in the car properly with the doors locked once the car is on the move. they should be fined for such reckless moves.
