Richard James a  naval engineer stumbled upon his idea of the toy slinky, when he mistakenly dropped a tension spring . He finally presented the toy in 1945 at Gimbals in philadelphia, though he was a bit nervous . But sales of the toy was a success, he has made over a quarter of a billion sales of the toy ever since then. Each toy goes for a dollar.  So hey whatever ideas you holding on to that you think is silly, could actually be your meal ticket.
