A group of youths opposed to the impeachment of the former Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako, clashed with others who were jubilating over his ouster in Guyuk, the country home of the former Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Kobis Thimnu, in Adamawa State.
The clash, which left several people injured and property, especially vehicles worth thousands of Naira destroyed, occurred at the popular 2-4-7 plaza area of the town on Thursday.

An eyewitness, said, “Trouble started when those in favour of the impeachment were celebrating with songs of praises and those opposed to the impeachment tried to prevent them.”
“The situation was aggravated when soldiers deployed in the area to maintain law and order, descended on them. Shop owners, who operated at the plaza, hurriedly closed their shops for fear of their shops being vandalised by the hoodlums. who may capitalise on the situation and loot property.”
There were no reports of arrests , while calm has been returned to the area.
