star Mackenzie Phillips, 56, returns to Oprah seven years after revealing incestuous affair with her father

Mackenzie Phillips shocked the world in 2009 when she told Oprah Winfrey that she had engaged in a 'consensual' sexual relationship with her father, Mamas And Papas frontman John Phillips, for 10 years.

Mackenzie chronicled their incestuous relationship in her tell-all book High On Arrival, published in 2009. 

She revealed she was first raped by her father in a hotel room when she was 18 while passed out after a drug binge.

But she continued to use drugs and have sex with him until she was 29, only stopping when she fell pregnant and feared the baby was his.

'The implications, the reality, of that…I had an abortion. And I never let him touch me again,' she said.

The former teen star of 1975 sitcom, One Day at a Time, is now sober and working as a rehab counsellor at the Pasadena Recovery Center in California.

But she believes she never would have been able to stay sober had she held on to her dark secret.

Wow!!  A whole new level of deprivation. I pray the get the strength to overcome this physiological trauma.
